Since its inception in 2017, Element Biosciences has successfully remained in stealth mode through several rounds of sizable investments, which has heightened intrigue surrounding the company’s strategy, executive team and disruptive genomics solution without divulging specifics. Element Biosciences engaged Team Seismic in June 2021 to assist with promoting its groundbreaking $276 million Series C funding announcement and planning for the company’s imminent commercial launch.
Element’s goal was to ensure that the company’s position as a hot San Diego startup and industry disruptor was both clearly and broadly conveyed, while building momentum as commercialization efforts ramped behind the scenes. To make sure we hit that goal, Seismic engaged a three-pronged approach to its PR campaign: Build awareness through Series C by launching the “Element Everywhere” awareness campaign, establish social presence to recruit and retain industry top talent, and position CEO Molly He, PhD as a credible thought leader.
Within one month, we landed staggering results. “Element Everywhere” resulted in coverage in 19 different publications with 15.7 million impressions. Element Bioscience social media channels showed a 9.47% engagement rate with 47,000 impressions in the first month of the program alone, with a continued steady social media presence of a 6.72% engagement rate with 74,000 impressions in July. CEO Molly He, PhD was awarded with Clinical OMICs Top Women in Precision Medicine, San Diego Business Journal Life Sciences Women of Influence, and EY San Diego Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist.
